If we lockdown, how different will it look from now?

Schools have ‘closed’ except many will have hundreds of children and staff still in.

Supermarkets, Shops, takeaway places, council offices, accountants, lawyers, IT workers, refuse collectors, county courts, utility workers, postmen, delivery drivers etc are all still working.

What would actually stop?

Good question. Was thinking about this earlier. Would the streets be patrolled then?

Slipslide2020 · 21/03/2020 23:19

From what I hear in other countries you have to have a signed permission slip to leave the house & the streets are patrolled.

Halfords won't be as busy.

And yes, I did pop over there today to pick up the car seat I had ordered. I am due a baby in 3 weeks and they won't let you leave the hosp without one. It was an essential trip.

My cousin's in lockdown and said you can go to the pharmacy and supermarket but that's it and only 50 meters from your door so no walking anywhere and all shops are closed for 30 days.

BirdandSparrow · 21/03/2020 23:23

Depends what they decide to ban, doesn't it? Here in Spain it means you basically stay at home on pain of a fine. We can go to work but as many places as possible are WFH, to buy food (one person only) and the pharmacy /vet. That's it. My kids haven't left the house in a week.

I0NA · 21/03/2020 23:28

Many accountants, lawyers and IT workers are WFH already.

And of course refuse collectors are still working - otherwise many more people will die.
