Anyone in Sydney?

DD is pregnant, has a toddler and as from last week, works from home. This morning she contacted me to tell me that both she and her DH have woken with all the symptoms of CV, feeling grim. They have a only a week's supplies in, and no family in the country. No supermarket deliveries. Does anyone know of any agencies who might be able to help? Thanks!

Me!

If you message me with a suburb, I'll see what I can find for them. I may know people in the area, I may be able to see what's available to them in the area.

In the meantime, they should call the hospital she is booked into for the birth and explain the situation, sick, pregnant, no food and see what the midwives suggest.

They could also call the Salvation Army, or their local member's office tomorrow.

There are FB groups which have been set up to help in these situations also. Get your dd to search for a group for her local area. Maybe a mum's group. Two I know of are inner west mums, and Parramatta mums.

People will help, but they may have to reach out in multiple ways. Do either of them have a workplace? That's another place to call.

Thank you so much, Jane! I've messaged you.

If she’s self isolating then she can register on the Woolworths website for a home delivery.

Victoria's state government are organising care packages for people in self isolation and unable to get food. Might be worth contacting the NSW government to see if they're doing the same.
