National Trust closing gardens

Just read a statement from the national trust that they are closing all gated gardens as of midnight tonight. Presumably because people didn’t observe social distancing and be sensible about visiting the outdoor spaces today.

Says the countryside and coastal car parks still have free parking though.

Oh - that policy didn’t last long!

Thank god we live near two and I said to DH they’ll be heaving. People are so bloody selfish - I read multi generational families were wondering around. I am so worried about where we will be in 2 weeks time.

Judging by the conversations on twitter and Facebook today @Dongdingdong people were flocking to some of them anyway and weren’t observing social distancing. It’s a shame because I think the NT were genuinely trying to do something nice to help people cope.
