Asthma and work

I'm going round in circles, trying to make a decision surrounding work and asthma.

My asthma is pretty well controlled, I use brown inhaler am and pm. Only use blue inhaler when I have a cough or cold (colds always cause flare ups) or my allergies trigger an attack, maybe three or four times a year.
Previously, although at least two years ago, I have had pneumonia and steroids when a cold/chest infection has triggered worsening asthma symptoms.
Always invited via GP to have flu jab.

Looking at guidelines, I should be self distancing, but I work in a customer facing role for a bank and we are staying open. I'm very close to customers.

My manager has said only serious asthma cases need to be off work and even though both my DD (type 1 diabetes) and DH (HA last year and stents, on meds) are also on the vulnerable list, I am still expected into work. Both DD and DH can wfh.
I'm thinking of taking unpaid leave but DH thinks I am being over cautious.
I'm terribly anxious about being in close proximity to customers all day.
Anyone any thoughts?
