Who should self isolate?

Sorry I know this kind of thing has been asked many a time & I have googled but I'm not 100% sure so asking anyway!

My DS is at his dads this weekend, he's just called to say DS has a new persistent cough so he's called 111 who say that they should both self isolate.

What about me? I took my DS to school Friday morning & he didn't have a cough that I noticed. Do I now need to self isolate?

He was also around my DM who works for the NHS on Thursday.
Does she need to self isolate?

Should my DS now stay with his dad for the 7 days or come back to me?

First of all tell your child's Dad to stop calling 111 as there is absolutely no need and I can't believe he's not got the message by now.

Yes, you need to self-isolate for 14 days.

Since your DM is not in your household, technically she probably doesn't but as she works for the NHS she should probably check with her work.
