I work for a local charity and all my team that are still working have less work to do as our normal client activities have been suspended for next few months
I’m keen to help as many people as possible and looking for ideas as to other things we could do whilst working from home
For example regular phone calls to lonely, elderly or those who are unwell
Advice, research and help with sorting out financial issues caused by current situation - we already do budgeting and debt support
What else do you think is needed?

I think both of those will be invaluable.

I've seen many teachers (and retired teachers)offering to help explain things when pupils and their parents might get stuck with school work.

I think the issue is, connecting with people whilst everyone considers safeguarding.....so, whereas, if you have a second language, it would be great to make themselves available to Skype / Facetime someone wishing to practice that language (incl BSL and Makaton), everyone must be aware of safeguarding issues that might arise through connecting with people you don't know, nd letting dc and young people connect with people they don't know.

I am loving all the links people are putting up to resources - not just for children, but links to free book downloads and library borrowing and exercise programmes and links to 'learn a language' programmes and 'how to cook' courses, etc etc.
