A friend of mine has created an open resource to be used in a medical setting for basic communication between a patient and staff. This could be because they can't speak due to illness (maybe intubated), or deaf, or there is a language barrier. It's to ensure that patients are as comfortable as possible and to reduce the need for translators (who would in turn need PPE which is running low).
He got the idea from a nurse who works at the NHS.
It's still being worked on, but there are already a lot of people who need care and that number will only increase. They will not necessarily be able to communicate in the language of the country, they won't be allowed visitors and and there won't be time to guess. I'm basically putting this here so that more people know that it's free and available for anyone to use.
