Keeping in touch using technology

Hi all
I have several groups of friends and relatives I would like to stay in touch with socially and "see" over phone or even better tablet or Tv or pc. Preferably without needing to attach camera...

Bit confused by the choices! WhatsApp , Google hang out, teams, zoom Skype ... probably more
Can anyone advise please?? Thanks!!!

I have just set up a tablet with facebook messenger on it for my mum. you need to make a facebook account, 'friend' the people you want to talk to and then on the seperate facebook messenger app you will be able to facetime them

whattsapp is also easy to use but it has to be on a phone
