Is anybody else’s local still open?

Mine is! Angry

What is the fucking point of us trying to make a change by significantly altering our lives, when not everyone is listening?!

It will take us all to get on top of this situation, if we can.

I thought pubs weren’t allowed to open after closing last night? I would want to report it but I have no idea who you would report it to.

covetingthepreciousthings · 21/03/2020 13:49

Yes, mine are, one is offering home delivery (fair enough), the other is offering take away in disposable cups which is basically encouraging people to congregate just outside the pub now Angry

It's ridiculous, finding loopholes to get through. The sooner they announce a lockdown the better in my opinion.

Whydididothatfuckingthing · 21/03/2020 13:49

I’d report it to 101

Aveino · 21/03/2020 13:51

If they are still open you should report it to the police.

covetingthepreciousthings · 21/03/2020 13:53

It's the same as Costa and cafes etc still being open though surely? They are allowed to run as a take away service. Our local restaurant is also now take away only.

TheQueef · 21/03/2020 13:53

Ours is Angry
They are using the back door, my Dad just got a text, five of his pals are there all ready all vulnerable!

PinkyU · 21/03/2020 13:53

I’m not sure it’s enforceable as it’s advice as opposed to mandated, isn’t it?

I really wish things were clearer

I run a pub and was thinking about take aways but to take away not drink in premises only because I've got lots of beer that's going to go off xx

Useryokyesno · 21/03/2020 13:54

No mine isn't and I live just behind it.

Megan2018 · 21/03/2020 13:55

Only for food take out, via window. No congregating

Megan2018 · 21/03/2020 13:56

It is mandated now, they can revoke license.

PinkyU · 21/03/2020 13:56

Folk are walking in then staying so I don’t think they’re doing a take away service.

Old school off licence sales Kab
Hopefully you have an older pub with the hatch still in.

PinkyU · 21/03/2020 13:58

101 it is then.

I hate being “that guy” as well, but what else can I do?

Youngatheart00 · 21/03/2020 13:59

Definitely report. It makes me furious that some people think they are above the law. And worse still getting a kick out of it.

PotsofChoc · 21/03/2020 13:59

Kab, do takeaway or sell it (at standard commercial price) don’t let it go to waste. My OH has been prevented from buying more than 3 of any alcohol type for his restaurant (now only takeaway). I am sure people will want it!

Kab30 · 21/03/2020 14:01

I don't but i have a back door which I could pass if people bring their own containers x

ShellsAndSunrises · 21/03/2020 14:20

Don't call 101 @PinkyU - Most police forces have asked people to leave those lines free for people who need them.

Surrey is the latest I saw - on Twitter: "We're getting a number of calls reporting certain premises that are still open following yesterday's Government announcement. Officers and PSCOs are reminding premises of the Government advice if they are found open. However some cafes and restaurants will be operating a takeaway service which is not affected by the measures. These are challenging times and we ask that you keep our 101/999 lines free for those who need us. Thank you"

Kab30 · 21/03/2020 14:42

Think I might xx
