House Renovation

We are getting our house renovated.

Electrician coming on Monday, Plasterer the week after and Plumber the following week.

Would you cancel?

I am wanting to cancel but I feel bad for them, they are self employed and I can hear the fear in their voices when I have spoken to them for the past few days.

Would you cancel?

Difficult one but no I wouldn't cancel. I would ask them to stay away if at all unwell and to keep distant from each other.

We're similar. Have had plasterer last week, electrician this week and having carpets fitted Wednesday and then moving in (hopefully!) on 31st. No I wouldn't cancel, but then we're in a desperate position and basically homeless unless we try to move in by 31st. Just keep your distance. Maybe say you would offer tea/coffee usually but feel safer not doing so at the mo, apologies. They need to earn a wage too.

No, and I don’t think the current guidance requires you to cancel as they are there for work purposes not social purposes and obviously the work can’t be done from home.

Unless you have a vulnerable person at home, then I would.

However this is why it is so essential that people cancel all social contact. Because there is already going to be lots of unavoidable social contact for work purposes to keep the economy going and people earning enough to get by. We can’t afford to add to it even a little bit.
