Closing schools...

Was it worth closing schools? My sister is a primary school teacher in a more deprived area of a large town. She is in as normal next week with a class of 25 or so children, a few less than she’d normally have. Also a teacher who works 2 days a week is being allowed to send her children to school full time... I’m not sure it is worth actually closing the schools at all as most have been virtually forced to operate as normal. My husband & I are not classed as key workers are working from home full time and will have our 5YO at home too which is fine I’m not complaining but will be tough but it just seems like a pointless exercise?

Doesn't sound like her management team have handled things very well.

Our 3 form entry primary school have 23 children due in next week. Staff are working in a rota basis to reduce numbers of adults in the building.

We have a high number of EHCP and key worker children but most have stuck with the rules that children should only be in school if absolutely essential.
