Toddler with mild fever

I thought my son felt a bit warm last night. He's 17 months. Most of the temperature readings came out at about 37 but twice it came out at 37.2 on the dot (I took at least 20 or 30 readings).

I did see that the threshold was 37.2 for a potential Coronavirus fever, but is it the same for babies/toddlers? He seems fine today and it was probably not Coronavirus but do we need to isolate just in case even though his temperature was generally below what was being quoted as the threshold?

I'm suggesting to DH that we err on the side of caution but he think he's fine and wasn't that hot last night (I have cold hands so I find it hard to tell).

I thought 37 was normal Confused

I thought has to be 38 to be a temp.

The NHS website says it has to be 37.8 or above.

Sounds normal

37.2 is a not a fever.

That's not a fever that's a normal temperature

Thanks everyone. That's a relief. I would have done it if needed but I was a bit nervous that we might eat through our cupboard food and then have to build up our stocks again.

I love Mumsnet!
