Was it always the plan for us to do this full lockdown? Or has the plan changed?

One of the things that worried me a lot was that they were trying to just let it run through the uk, deliberately letting children get it to create herd immunity. I am glad they have seen sense now. Do you think they always knew this would be necessary?

I think if people dont start socially isolating and stop panic buying etc we will be going into full lock down

I think there are probably a huge variety of plans with differing measures in different combinations.
They will be continually assessing the situation and making the best call at the time. That’s not to say they haven’t/won’t make the wrong decision. This is an emergency event quite like a war and as data changes plans will need to be amended.

I think so as well. The government is hoping (especially now as pubs etc are shut) that people will see sense. I mean Mr wetherspoons and his nonsence is probably what caused the shutdown! consider the amount of spoons pubs and staff......

If people still don`t get it, then I hope we do have a lockdown.

I think there is more people out than ever. Parks are full. Supermarkets are packed. Schools are still full of kids. I think complete lockdown is coming soon. It's getting ridiculous.

I think we will be in full lockdown soon as a lot of people are still not understanding how serious this is and that we should all be minimising contact with other people. Groups of teenagers roaming round the town is completely unacceptable. I would welcome a full lockdown.

I think there will be tougher measures in place next week. When they have large groups of teenagers hanging around shopping centres they will close all but essential shops.
It's not just teenagers though - if adults don't get how serious the situation is and keep congregating in places that are still open and won't stop with this panic-buying, then there will have to be more restrictions.

I'm in another country and first they announced closure of schools, then a couple of days later closure of all hotels, restaurants. Then the next day closure of "non-essential" shops. Then the day after that a lockdown - no leaving the house apart from for 3 reasons. And then fines will be issued for those breaking the rules.
