Just that. If a friend sent you a video saying that CV was caused by 5g and that vaccines won’t work.

I’d think they were a knobhead

FlamingoAndJohn · 21/03/2020 07:39

I would question our friendship.

SandyFire · 21/03/2020 07:39

I’m furious

I'd wonder why she'd temporarily gone stupid.

HoffiCoffi13 · 21/03/2020 07:40

I’d assume they were joking unless it’s someone know for being a bit of a twat.

Ihateselfishbastards · 21/03/2020 07:40

I’d delete it and tell your friend to stop sending crap!

SandyFire · 21/03/2020 07:42

They’re not joking.

I'd delete it without watching it in case it's carrying a virus. Then depending on the friend, eg if they were naive about computer security I'd remind them about scams and viruses. If they were someone I thought knew better, I'd send a sarcastic reply.

Wiltinglillies · 21/03/2020 07:44

I'd just quietly unfollow them. There are all sorts of strange theories out there. People don't necessarily think straight in a crisis. No sense in ending a friendship.

Xiaoxiong · 21/03/2020 07:44

Someone I hired for a job once sent me a video claiming the virus was killed by heat so you need to direct your hairdryer up your nose. It wasn't a joke, just straight up scaremongering lies.

I always knew she was pretty dim, she often would send me dumb antivax and health videos. She has subsequently cancelled all her clients as she is too scared to go out (I had called to discuss contact-free distance services) and she told me she had to drive to loads of different shops to get "a few bits" before she went into lockdown - and sent me a photo of over 30 toilet rolls (one person).

I know someone like that. He says electricity makes him ill and he can't sleep in a house with electricity. Very limiting life. As are all the tin foil hat things. I don't really react to stuff like that, if they go on about it I just sympathize that it effects then so badly.

MrsAJ27 · 21/03/2020 07:45

I would get on with my day...Different ppl believe different things.

SandyFire · 21/03/2020 07:48

Thanks for some measured responses. I’ll think about that and try not to let it affect me so much. I just feel it’s so insensitive to send it at the moment. But she obviously believes it. I don’t know why it’s angered me so much

I'd worry about their mental health.

elfycat · 21/03/2020 07:49

I'd stick about 5 laughing faces in the comments and then go about my day.

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 21/03/2020 07:51

I would think that person was a moron
