Sick note for pregnancy self isolation?

kittykat7210 · 20/03/2020 22:59

I tried looking on NHS website and it says that pregnant women should self isolate but I can’t see how to get a sick note from their online service! I tried calling 111 but I was on hold for ages (understandable) And eventually cut off and my work need me to provide a sick note for my absence, should I ring/visit my GP? I don’t have any symptoms, nor does anyone in the household but due to me working ‘on the front line’ I’m more likely to catch it, and even if it doesn’t affect me (I’m 30 weeks) I have a husband with crohns who might be severely affected and I don’t want to bring it home to him either!

You need to self certificate for the first 7 days as per usual

If I phoned my GP they would sort this. They should be your first port of call on this I think. I doubt they’d have to see you in person.

I haven’t heard of anyone getting a sick note for self isolation and I’m surprised your employer is requesting one. It’s not just for people who are sick.

You dont need a sick note. Work are wrong

I’ve been told I need to have a sick note to qualify for pay, which I am entitled to especially as I’m in a high risk category, I only got home at 8.30pm so GP was shut and will be until Monday, so I suppose I’ll have to wait until then.

you don't

I do though, I can’t afford not to have any sick pay and they won’t pay me without a sick note. It says if I’m self isolating I can get one from the website but when I try to it won’t let me, unless I lie about the reason I’m self isolating.
