Self isolating - note on door?
Itwasntme1 · 20/03/2020 19:58
I am on day one of self isolating - already going a bit mad!
I have a few deliveries due, and was thinking of taping a note to the door explaining why I’m not answering. Has anyone done this?
I live alone and am not feeling very well so napping through the day, I don’t want to miss deliveries though and assume most companies will be happy to leave it at the back door under the circumstances?

A note on the door seems perfectly sensible to me. Your body needs all the rest it can get. Do you have everything you need?
Tiredoutteacher2020 · 20/03/2020 20:11
Yes but I would say WE are self isolating. Don't advertise that you're alone.
Itwasntme1 · 20/03/2020 20:14
Great point saying we! I hadn't thought of that aspect.
I will put it up in the morning. Thanks 😊

OP, what kind of an area do you live in? Some people can't be trusted to react safely or sensibly around such things. I really wouldn't label your house, you could be asking for trouble.

Say warm in bed and get better soon, itwasntme1 💐
Excellent reminder by tiredoutteacher2020 that "WE are self-isolating"
LizzyButton · 20/03/2020 20:29
There are ways of letting the delivery happen without contact.
BigChocFrenzy · 20/03/2020 20:31
I could see a problem letting someone know you WON'T be home,
but not a problem saying you are
"Self-isolating" doesn't mean you have CV
- many thousands, maybe millions of people will be staying home with bog-standard coughs, colds or flu
Itwasntme1 · 20/03/2020 20:35
I live in a nice area, no issues and lots of people self isolating.
I don’t think I have cv, but I do have The symptoms so just being cautious.
Chemist was great and left my prescription hanging on the front door handle.
