Can anyone advise on the guidance for over 70s? My mother in law is 71 and works in admin at Stepping Hill (employed by the NHS). She asked whether she could work from home and they have said no and her options are come in to work or don't be paid. She can manage without the pay (and her job is clinic admin so not essential at the moment) but I am just wondering if you think this sounds right?

Unfortunately the government guidance on this is currently not strong enough offer much protection for her. I am also NHS and in the at risk group due to pregnancy. I am front line and even so the government guidance that “strongly advises” the at risk groups to work from home and avoid public transport does not seem to be offering me any protection and I have to carry on as usual. Apparently there is PHE guidance for at risk NHS workers coming soon so look out for this.
