Council-run pool and gym showing no signs of closing

Our (big!) local swimming pool and gym has just posted an 'amended' timetable that will be operational from Monday 23rd - which includes public swimming sessions, and swimming lessons as normal.

Surely this cannot be right? I understand what an awful loss shutting it will be to the community and staff but FFS surely this cannot be right.? Genuinely, what do others think?

Ours all shut on Tuesday. Some small independent ones are still open

My children's private lessons don't show any signs of being cancelled. Really surprised!

Same as my council run leisure centre OP. I think it's really irresponsible.

Proper chlorine treatment kills Covid-19, according to our gym, who are encouraging people to go for a swim rather than try to get into the packed gym.

My gum is open. They are reducing class sizes . Totally irresponsible but from their side they need to protect their livelihood (small independent). I pay monthly and have no intention of cancelling it. I also have no intention of going.

Chlorine may well kill the virus. But people will be mixing in changing rooms, toilets and showers before they get in the water so the risk of transmission is high - especially if the spaces are busy.
