Currently work part time in a GP surgery doing admin. Doors still open to general public to collect prescriptions, cough over us etc. Sharing phones, out of hand sanitizer. GP came in yesterday, he was unwell yet still dictated letters to me!! That GP is now "working from home". Staff are dropping like flies as we are not being protected properly. I have an immunosuppressed child and I'm terrified of him getting ill. Going to work at present gives me massive anxiety. Husband off til September on full pay. Should I just not go and take unpaid leave for the forseeable? Is that even allowed? Wwyd?

I would explain the situation to your employer, and see what they suggest, but ultimately, you should do what feels right for you and your family. Good luck.

Thanks Oakeyy. I'm still debating what to do, but I'm leaning towards just giving in my notice :(

It’s worth talking to them first. If you can go off paid, supported by the governments 80% salary then you’re better off than handing in your notice.

Atleast then you’ve asked and you know you have nothing to loose go ahead and hand in your notice
