DC's contact with dad

DD just rang her dad to make arrangements for their contact (overnight on a Friday) as he told her he and some friends are all going for a day trip to the wildlife park and what time can he collect her?
I overheard and asked if he was serious and he shouted 'it's all a load of fucking bollocks I'm not changing my life!' I said 'we are being responsible and not making unnecessary trips out'. He then addressed DD again and said 'why have you rang me if you're just being silly about things?'
What the fuck.

So sorry for your DD; what an irresponsible father.

Thank you. I'm venting here. He's chosen his day out over seeing his daughter. Even she at 9 years of age understands it's not a wise idea.

He’s being irresponsible and foolish.

This article may be helpful, although doesn’t specifically cover what to do if one parent is an idiot.

I should've known he would use this situation to show what an absolute bell end he is. Just so incredibly selfish and inconsiderate.
I actually think we do need a lockdown or at least close more places which are still open to the public (with pay) to police people who can't be trusted to police themselves properly.
