Sending kids to school

I feel like I'm either taking this too seriously or other people are living in a different world to me.

I qualify as a key worker but I'm currently on maternity so have decided not to send DC to school as I can be home with them. My friend is a SAHM to two school age children, however her husband is a key worker so she is going to send her kids into school. I'm honestly confused as I assumed if you are a key worker but can arrange for someone/partner to have your children so you can work then you shouldnt send them to school, and take up a place giving the skelton staff extra work load.
Parents are also talking about meeting up with the children too so they can play together. I'm just so confused as I was going to keep children in social distance etc..

You are behaving responsibly. Your friend is not.

Your friend is a selfish idiot.

Your friend is feckless and irresponsible. In a couple of weeks she will possibly change her mind - but by then it may be too late for many.

I just feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall with people or doubting myself that I am being over dramatic! I keep saying if we all follow the guidelines social distance, stay in etc.. then this will be over quicker.

Our Primary school have said that if children can safely be at home they should be, even if that is with older siblings. One of my children qualifies for a place at school next week bit will not be there.
