Covid
What symtoms have you had if you have treated Covid at home
quiteathome · 20/03/2020 09:52
Good Morning,
This one is for if you suspect you may have/ had Covid-19 and have treated at home. Therefore won't know if it was actual Corona virus.
I have had
mild sore throat
Fever and chills
Loss of appetite
Cough and vomiting
Three days really bad. not feeling too bad today.
Lottapianos · 20/03/2020 10:01
Mine started on Tuesday, feeling hot and cold, totally exhausted. Cough started yesterday, pretty mild and very dry. Sore throat today. Body aches and pains. All manageable with paracetamol. Raging thirst, eating normally
So not feeling great, but have felt MUCH worse with other bugs in the past. No way to be sure if it is COVID 19 though, because no testing - crazy!
asmuchuseas · 20/03/2020 10:27
I was just about to start a thread because I have all the symptoms you've both described.
Yesterday I felt tired and achy, I was freezing all day, and had a sore throat.
Today my ears hurt, throat is scratchy I ache even more and I'm clammy.
Yabadee · 20/03/2020 10:32
2 instances over 2 days of sudden high temp, shakes and racing heart. Paracetamol took it away. Fatigue too! Sweats, breathlessness.
Third day achingly sore chest and cough started, breathlessness and loss of strength.
Fourth day, still sore chest but not as bad. Still coughing, bit breathless
Today fifth day, just a cough. Still don’t have as much strength and got breathless going upstairs but think I’m on the mend.
5 yo has a cough.
Hoping this is it and we’ve had it and it’s done with!

I'm on day 7 of SI.
Symptoms......
Burning nasal passages
Sore throat
Mild headache
Difficulty breathing for 3 days (not pleasant) I wouldn't want to have a severe case it's like suffocating.
Coughing.
I'm assuming that's it, but obviously not 100% sure. So I don't know if I'm immune now or not, still practicing SI and will do for the foreseeable future.

End of January
Started with a dry cough that became loose (still got it)
Sweats, so bad bed changed daily
Headache like no other, indescribable pain
Shivering
Sickness about day 4-6
Temperature
Short of breath, felt like someone sat on my chest
I went through three boxes of tissues in three days coughing stuff up, initially clear liquid and eventually thick green phlegm. Day 4-6
Aching limbs
Overwhelming tiredness and weakness
Rang 111, advised to go to A and E, on arrival I had no temperature and my sats were okay so I wasn't tested and sent home.
I took paracetamol and at times codeine but it didn't really make a lot of difference.
I am convinced I have had it, I had swine flu in 2009 and the symptoms were similar but more severe this time.
I was in Thailand in Nov/Dec 2019 and had just returned from Krakow when I fell ill. This was dismissed as not being high risk areas, although we now know the virus was doing the rounds before December.
It has taken me several weeks to regain full health, the weakness and exhaustion has taken a lot longer to go. It is only now I feel fine. My symptoms began at the end of January and after 3-4 days became very severe, I was in bed over a week, couldn't cope with any screen time, I slept and rested. I had two weeks off work.

Day 1 and 2 very sore throat
Day 3 sore throat, then fever and exhaustion in the evening, high fever overnight
Day 4 barely got out of bed, cough started
Day 5 and 6 felt a bit better but cough got much worse
Day 7 again in bed with total exhaustion couldn't get up at all, fever, coughing, stomach pain from coughing
Day 8 and 9 (today) feeling pretty crap but out of bed. Cough is still awful, almost constant and hurting my stomach.
I haven't had much appetite since day 3 really and have had bad headaches on and off since the start.
DD (9 months) started with a high fever yesterday and has had it since then, controlled with calpol. But she's had a cough for about 3 or 4 weeks so not actually sure how much of that is related to my symptoms.
Bookworm83 · 20/03/2020 12:36
I've had high temperature since Tuesday night.
Starting to get a sore throat today.
It doesn't help that I'm pregnant and due any day now ☹️
LucheroTena · 20/03/2020 12:37
I think DD had it after school ski trip, they all had similar.
Mild fever went away quickly.
Dry non productive cough which she still has weeks later.
DH then got a fever and felt crappy, disappeared quickly.
I had no symptoms but possibly asymptomatic infected.
Pomegranatemolasses · 20/03/2020 12:40
Why aren't they testing? The advice is that testing is vital in order to try and control the spread.
I'm in Ireland, we're taking things a lot more seriously here. Schools and colleges closed last Thursday, bars shut Sunday night, most cafes etc now closed voluntarily
HRH2020 · 20/03/2020 15:08
Random fever for a couple of hours 5 days before any other symptoms then
Mild fever and chills (fever went after a day but chills continued). Had a hot face.
Nausea on days 1&2
Headache
Mild sore throat
After 3 days chest tightness and breathlessness in the evening. Only cough when feeling breathless.
Random pains in back and chest
All symptoms come and go so I think I feel well then they come back.
DP had headache and sore throat
DS had mild fever, headache, loss of appetite and sore chest but was over it in 48 hours
EthelMayFergus · 20/03/2020 15:17
Dh developed a continuous cough yesterday and had a fever last night. Today he's very tired (hasn't got out of bed much), has no appetite and still coughing. No headache or nausea and his temperature seems back to normal. He's normally fit and healthy with no other illnesses.
TheWooisStrong · 20/03/2020 15:21
Mild sore throat and slight diarrhoea. (Mid last week)
Hot eyes.
Developing into aches, chills and general feeling of malaise.
Achey between the shoulder and breastbone.
Fast pulse and rigors with chills overnight and on occasion.
Fatigue+++
Slightly breathless on exertation.
Bags under eyes. DH and children also have big bags. DH similar symptoms, children bit of cough, some v mild fatigue, but mostly themselves.
asmuchuseas · 20/03/2020 16:53
I had a burning face on Tuesday afternoon come to think of it and felt iffy then 🤔
goldengranny · 20/03/2020 17:33
I thought the main symptoms were a cough? It's not a rhinovirus which gives you a sore throat and runny nose, but an adenovirus which is cleverer than the rhinoviruses, because it bypasses the nose and goes straight into the lungs.
The list of symptoms doesn't include sore throat or runny nose.
meredithgrey1 · 20/03/2020 18:57

Sore throat is if you look at different places. For example the Australian department of health lists it. It seems to be a less common one I think?
Grinchlywords · 20/03/2020 19:11
First felt slightly unwell last Saturday. Really tired, wobbly legs. It cleared up. Then on and off with slightly tight chest and a pain like heartburn. ( which I suffer from) Went away. Random hot face. Temp up and down ( but am menopausal) Thought it was my imagination.
Then suddenly this pm, wham! Day 1 proper. Very sudden onset of feeling very unwell. Burning sore throat. Weird aches and pains and muscle weakness. Tightness in chest. Weird bodily feelings I can't describe. Muzzy head, lack of focus.
Thing is I very rarely get colds and have only once had something like flu. My last cold/ chest infection was 2012. I am sure this is it.

Sorry posted too soon. Lots of people including myself have had a sore throat... not sure why Government health info here only lists the two most common symptoms. That omission in itself will have confused people and cost lives 🙁
