this is not meant to be patronising but a genuine get together to help. On other threads ops have been very worried about feeding families with restricted ingredients & stores -so I thought it might be an idea for people to give ideas/help each other with recipes & what restrictions they have. So - to start with tinned Tuna, IF you have rice, pasta, or potatoes - is something that can be expanded & used in all sorts of ways. couscous hiding at the back of your cupboard can be used instead of rice
I have made a fish pie using tuna baked beans & sweetcorn & onions & herbs & found a recipe making tuna bolognaise (the dc ate it!) which was basically drained tuna with onion (see substitutes) tomato & herbs
You can replace the flavour of onions with spring onions, chives, or garlic (a clove or two) at a push - or just use capsicum
anybody?

Tuna and baked beans don't appeal to me but it is very traditional to use tuna with tomato sauce and spaghetti in some regions of Italy.

...something like this App (American biased though) may be useful - not sure whether it is free or not but seems to work out as a web-based version

Tuna fish cakes with potatoes & herbs
or bean cakes I have used butterbeans because one of my dd was fussy & they disappear -using beans mashed pots (could use cooked rice & flour to make it stick) herbs & paprika or dash of curry powder & herbs serves with tom sauce or pickle
Pickle is great in cooked in a sauce for given flavour especially if you haven't got onions & pickled onions can be used in stews or sauce if you haven't got fresh

I make a green lentil bolognese sauce with dried green lentils, tinned Haricot beans, tinned cannolini beans, tin tomatoes and Passata.
Fry onion and garlic till soft. Add 140g green lentils, tomatoes, Passata, beans 1/2 tsp oregano and basil. Simmer for an hour and a half.
DD loves this with spaghetti and loads of cheddar on top!
