Should I cancel the Health Visitor??

Our health visitor wants to come and weigh our babe today.

She’s 5 weeks old and we’ve had some weight issues.

I’m asthmatic (controlled) and I’m really trying to avoid contact with anyone unnecessarily.

Would it be extreme of me to tell her not to come?

No not at all. I'd feel the same and I'm shocked she wants to come to be honest!

Sorry just read the bit about weight issues...are you concerned that she's not gaining?

I used to be a health visitor and know from my ex-colleagues that certainly in this area, they're not offering any visits that are not deemed absolutely necessary. I'm sure the HV would be extremely willing to have you weigh the baby yourself if you can get to a self weigh? Or if you are truly confident that her weight is doing well? Certainly not unreasonable to cancel but as long as you just ensure that you're also happy with your baby's health as it is and as her Mother, the HV should certainly be supportive of your decision either way.
