Older people and FaceTime

Apologies if similar has been suggested and posted.

Would like to take the time to suggest showing the older people in your life's who may not already be able to, to use Skype/FaceTime/Facebook video call. It could give them such a boost by seeing their loved ones are well, not just taking their word for it over the next few months.

Perhaps talk and show them through, and make a step by step guide using printed out screenshots so they can work it out when alone.

If they don't have a device to use, check your drawers and cupboards for an old smartphone or tablet you may have forgot about, its much better for them to try and use it, than sitting untouched with you.

Could be a lifeline for some people, and you'll be surprised how easily they take to it when they get to see their grandchildren etc from 100 miles away Smile

It is really easy. MIL is pushing 70, can’t read or speak English, and has a Nokia phone. She learned how to use the Ipad and Iphone for facetime and use Whatsapp Video calling within 5 mins. I had to load up her contacts though.

Exactly! It's certainly worth a go. I've made some step by step guides to leave with your loved ones after they've been shown, that I'm happy to share if there's interest.
