I know we’re looking at months here, but I can’t imagine not seeing my parents, family and friends for 4 months, let alone more. Not to mention not seeing anyone to speak to socially except my DP and 17 month old DS.
I’m getting really scared for my mental health.

I'm sorry, but the bottom line is that we don't know.
We have to wait either for an effective vaccine, or for enough people to have survived the disease and formed a lasting immune response that transmission slows. Thus assumes of course that most people do form a lasting response, because both a and b fail if people do not become immune.
The glimmer of hope is that a reliable serological test (which shows who has had) might show an encouraging level of asymptomatic or 'so mild they never realised they had it' cases. Another glimmer is that further experimentation with the drugs (and similar drugs) to those which are showing positive effect in aiding recovery (either singly or in combination) might produce better treatment regimes leading to better survivability for the serious cases

Can I just ask how China are on their way back to normal now? I know it’s true as I have a Facebook friend who lives and works there and has posted a video of what it looks like there now. And people are going to bars, restaurants etc again. The streets are busy. The video clearly showed that.

China have been on strict lockdown, they acted quickly. Everyone needs to stop social contact immediately in this country, or we are in for much worse than China

They locked down. Properly. We are not yet, similar to Italy - too little too late. Not locking down hotspot London whilst a large number flee to their second homes (like Italy did) to spread the virus (like Italy did) or carry on socialising I'm afraid this could be a long haul. It's not like we aren't 2 weeks behind Italy and not see the signs though is it? People need to lock the fuck down and listen if they want this over with any time soon.

Yeah I think it's crazy how England are dealing with this. I'm from England but live in morocco and we have been on strict lockdown since there was 30 cases. Now there is 60. Hoping this means there won't be much more and our lockdown won't last too much longer. The fact that England aren't learning from the massacre in Italy is completely shocking!! And I read today they are opening temporary cemeteries in London, preparing for mass death "incase" it happens. Do they want a lot of people to die? It's bizzare to me!

China had first cases in Nov/Dec and so they've had this for several months already.
