Supermarket delivery slots

Starting to get symptoms this evening so obviously won’t be going out for a while.

Trying to get organised and arrange an online supermarket delivery for next week - from what I understand they leave your shopping on the doorstep. There are no slots on Tesco or Asda, zero for weeks in advance.

Has anyone had a delivery today? Are they updating their slots daily or is that it, it’s all gone to shit now too?

Depends where you live but I tried to get a slot yesterday for my elderly parents and the closest one from tesco was 1st april.

Sexnotgender · 19/03/2020 21:28

I just tried and none on Sainsbury’s and earliest was 2nd April on Morrison’s and they didn’t have 1/2 the stuff I wanted.

LastTrainEast · 19/03/2020 21:29

Most are booked for around 3 weeks. If there are none free then they should all show an extra day on the end at midnight if you are quick.

Ocado is another matter. Not checked since, but they closed their site and app for a few days to sort themselves out.

CodenameVillanelle · 19/03/2020 21:30

They all went early this week, sorry

thereisfreedomwithin · 19/03/2020 21:32

Will you ask a friend to shop for you?

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 19/03/2020 21:39

i had asda delivery tuesday, another one booked for next thursday, and one for the weds after that.

i’m in a smallish semi rural market town - i don’t know if that makes a difference, but i’ve had no problems so far.

once you get in the swing of booking in advance it’s doable.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 19/03/2020 21:44

Facebook on our area has organised an action group people can use to offer and ask for help

ineedanotherholiday · 19/03/2020 21:44

Today I tried Asda, Tesco, Iceland, Morrison's and Sainsbury's. First one I got was Monday 30th with Morrison's. Everywhere else nothing at all, not even click & collect.

Seapink2 · 19/03/2020 21:45

Ah I see, rural location by the coast here.
The supermarkets here have been striped bare this week here, I don’t think there would be much to deliver even if I got a slot!

I think I could scrape together 7 days with of food with what I have. The advise is still 7 days indoors isn’t it?

If you have a delivery pass with asda you can book a recurring slot. I have one for 8-10am this Saturday and next Saturday. How much of the stuff I've ordered will actually arrive is another question...

Seapink2 · 19/03/2020 21:52

Just checked Asda again, next available is the 3rd April!

RhymingRabbit3 · 19/03/2020 21:56

Try checking at 12.01am
Anyone with a recurring delivery slot who hasnt filled it, their slots will become available 2 days before at midnight.

YoursTunbridgeWells · 19/03/2020 21:59

It's 14 days now sadly. Do you have a local facebook group or village group as I am sure someone would be prepared to help you out.

dontaskformedicaladviceonmn · 19/03/2020 21:59

I just checked and in my area there are no Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s are no longer delivering & the earliest Asda have is 4th April!

ExpectingToFly · 19/03/2020 22:06

How about a local farm nearby that might be delivering? Or a dairy company like Milk and More they don't have just milk they have other bits too. I've placed an order with a local farm I saw advertising on facebook, veg box, bread, butter, eggs, doughnuts! Sorted Smile

Babyg1995 · 19/03/2020 22:10

I booked my Asda for this Saturday away last week and booked one for the 3rd of April today as we will obviously need more by then can't go out shopping by then as I'll be recovering from my c section .

Talia99 · 19/03/2020 22:16

None on tesco (who I normally go with) but I got one for this Sunday with Sainsbury’s. Of course, I assume half the stuff I’ve ordered won’t arrive. I’m just praying the loo roll makes it - I’m down to 1 1/4 rolls.

definitelygc · 19/03/2020 22:20

My Sainsbury's delivery came today that I booked a week ago. No bread, no flour, no beans, no toilet roll, no toothpaste, no handwash, no spuds. The poor delivery guy was very apologetic (when of course it's not his fault). It's the bloody panic buyers.

Bonkersblond · 19/03/2020 22:33

Well have to say Tesco did well today, ok there was a fair amount missing and a lot of substitutes but fairly decent considering. I could have cried as they managed to get me a chicken, I’d ordered and was showing as unavailable but it turned up!
