Are people supposed to call their GP if they believe they fall into the vulnerable category ? Each department in my work seems to be dealing with it differently some people report as having health issues and advised by manager to stay off others email HR who advise to stay off but their managers say no come in . Causing a lot of confusion

Why would you call your GP?

Hobbes8 · 19/03/2020 18:24

Call your GP for what? A sick note? Please don’t - they’re massively overwhelmed at the moment.

Tatty101 · 19/03/2020 18:25

You deal with this yourself - why do you need your GP to tell you if you hit one of the criteria? Surely you should know?

If you go on the gov.uk website, it has the full list

I’m not going to phone my GP I’m well aware of how much pressure they are under as my parent works in a surgery . I was more asking as some colleagues have been doing that and I found it strange given how busy they are .

I think they will notify those affected but broadly speaking if you are offered a flu jab you are deemed vulnerable.

Chickenpie9 · 19/03/2020 18:33

I’m purely asking as one of few people still at work and a lot of younger colleagues are asking me things like this as one girl had type 1 diabetes and her managers attitude was basically tough you need to come in .

some colleagues have been doing that Your colleagues are twits then.

GP surgeries have got better things to do at the moment that answer ten million stupid phone calls.

Chickenpie9 · 19/03/2020 18:56

I know and also had a colleague who phoned GP as her leg was sore ! These are people with numerous degrees in some cases. I despair sometimes .
