Hi,

Was just wondering, those of you who are working jobs still and have school aged children, what will you be doing for childcare?

My colleague is taking unpaid leave to be at home with the kids as they dont have family around to help

Will you be doing that? Or have you got family that can help out

I’m frontline nhs part time, DH is a structural engineer told to continue working until told otherwise or it will be unpaid and we cannot afford to do that as he makes more than me so I will be off it looks like

Work Before they wake up
Work pm when in the Xbox
The Xbox time is going to be obscene

Hire a babysitter
Use existing CM until lock down

@TheCountessatHotelCortez does your DH employer realise that their policy is stopping frontline NHS workers from being available. If so they should reconsider as that is appalling. We should be pulling together to ensure the NHS is at maximum capacity.

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 19/03/2020 17:45

@mumski45 they probably do realise this as he won’t be the only one in this position but if they close now their insurance won’t cover it therefore DH won’t have a job to go back to. As much as I love my job and want to help people get better I have to think of the financial implications for my family as well

@Thisisworsethananticpated my childminder isn’t sure she will be staying open at this moment in time

Mumski45 · 19/03/2020 19:19

Its a horrible predicament to be in isn't it @TheCountessatHotelCortez. The government need to act quicker to take measures to give businesses some confidence that they can survive.

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 19/03/2020 19:53

@mumski45 this is exactly it, I don’t mind all the upheaval it has to happen to ensure some kind of survival rate but I am petrified that we are going to be left unable to make ends meet or have anything like our life was before this
