Just after a little advice
My son is in primary. I work in NHS so not going to stop working.
I understand that there's going to be a scheme in place so my child can still go to school.
However, between me, my parents, dad, step mum and step sibling (15) he can be looked after.
But does he have to go? Is it just one parent who or 2 who have to work as a key worker?

I've already printed off the school work he will do at home and there will be a timetable similar to a school day he will (have no choice but to) stick to.

If I don't inform the school I'm a key worker is this wrong? Do I NEED to? Or is it only if I need to send him because I have no other option?

His dad says he can stay off if we're both strict with his learning. Luckily we both agree with this. Plus it's less risk for him and therefore us.

I don't think it's compulsory I'm under the impression it is for people with no childcare that work in certain industry's.

I've heard that they can only go to school if both parents are key workers.

PrayingandHoping · 19/03/2020 15:22

From what I understand it is not compulsory and only to be used if you NEED to. I suspect it will only apply if there isn't another parents at hone that can care for the child

They have pleaded with people to not use grandparents

Juanmorebeer · 19/03/2020 15:23

No they do not have to go. Only if you need them to

Its not compulsory. I’ve emailed my DC’s school asking them not to include my children in their contingency as we can look after them ourselves.

We received a letter with a list of whom they qualify as a key worker and that it is optional to sign up for the lessons. They need the form back before the 20th to arrange the lessons
