So sad for DS that tomorrow will, in all probability, be his last day at his lovely, lovely primary school (actually I think I am feeling quite sad for me too) and sad for his lovely teacher who had so many wonderful things planned for them in the months ahead.

Obviously he's not alone. Has anyone managed to make any last minute plans to "celebrate" tomorrow, and are you doing anything for your class teacher, or are you just hoping that things might change before the end of term?

We’ll be making cards tonight but that’s as far as I can go. All my money is gone on making sure I’ve got enough food in the house for the next week, credit on my phone, petrol in case of emergencies. I’d love to have a little party (just us) tomorrow night but honestly I can’t see that I can afford it. My daughter is devastated.

Luckily I have a younger daughter so I’ll still have contact with the school but I feel so sorry for my eldest.

I feel sad for DS who will miss out on all the summer term things that they do. No Y6 play, disco, or leaver's assembly. He's been at this school since nursery 8 years ago, and I'm not sure which one of us is more sad about it all ending tomorrow.

They are handing out autograph books tomorrow so that class mates can sign them, and I guess there will be signing of shirts too. But I don't expect there will be much more due to the short notice.

I'm also slightly concerned about September and what will happen about his transition to secondary school.
