Not only has my LOs nursery announced they are staying open, but they are also encouraging people to book emergency care with them, of course for a charge. Am I mad thinking this is just a greedy money making scheme for them?

All other private nursery’s in the area have announced they are closing, its not essential my LO attends their usual two afternoons as I have sorted family minding my eldest so LO can go with them, it’s just left me feeling a bit off about them. It’s not for emergency service workers by the way, just anyone.

Mine intend to stay open until forced to close. Private not council run. I don't blame them, they are a business. We intend to send our DD unless unwell. If they are not covered by insurance then they could
Easily go out of business if parents can't or won't pay. I suspect they are also trying to limp on until the end of the month to avoid any discussions about refunds already paid on top of the inevitable difficulties of whether parents will need to keep paying.

I don’t know why nurseries are announcing this when the guidance hasn’t been clarified yet.
I’d bet a lot of money that they’ll be made to close.

I just find it very suspicious how they wait for others to close and suddenly now they are open to anyone for emergency care, yes they are a business but now isn’t the time to steal other business’ customers......
that hardly shows regard/standard of care to the children or staff they currently are supposed to care for.
