IVF Treatment cancelled until 2021

A close relative has just told me her fertility clinic (IVF cycle funded through through the NHS) have cancelled her IVF treatment (which was just due to start) and said they will now be closed until 2021, due to COVID-19.

She was told all treatment as of now is cancelled, devastatingly even those part-way through treatment.

Is anyone else affected by this? Have you been told the same or is your treatment going ahead?

Most clinics have beds, ventilators, sedation expertise, and their own labs. My guess is many clinics will used to bolster the nhs

I haven't rang my clinic to find out, it is an NHS clinic but I was still in the "losing weight" part of my journey, but I had come to terms with it not happening this year despite time not being on my side Sad but it's shit times and I'd sooner my nurse was distributed to another part of the hospital if necessary.

Sad times indeed.

Yes. Our clinic have closed but hoping it won’t be until 2021. Devastated as we’ve been waiting a year to be able to do this round. I know they have to do what they have to do but it’s still so sad.
