Co worker Self isolating

So I have a co-worker self isolating yet I saw them out with a friend.

I was under the impression that self isolation means you don't leave your house. Am I wrong?

You're right, stay at home. Unless you need to walk a dog or something, you can exercise in quiet open spaces like fields, nature reserves etc. I'm in isolation and took my dog for a walk this morning for 15 minutes (small dog) in a wooded grassy area, there was one other woman with her dog and I made sure I stayed much more than 2 metres from her. She should not be hanging out with other people or going inside establishments etc.

Makes me wonder if they are only saying they are self isolating just to get out of work for 2 weeks with full pay!
