Pick your own farms?

I was just wondering how farms are going to manage this. The crops are already in the ground and there is the potential for huge amounts of fruit and vegetables starting in around 2 months' time. They surely cannot allow all this to go to waste. But how can they manage the people who are picking fruit/veg, taking them to the weighing machine and paying? I think they will put up some kind of partition, a slot to put your produce on a weighing machine which the assistant can see, and maybe contactless payment only. What do others think?
