Friend of mine set up a toddler group in Autumn last year.
It was not what she would have wanted. However she did a PhD and that came to nothing as it didn't lead her down the career path she wanted and job offers were not forthcoming. She also spent many years out of the work force doing this and not earning and also took years to finish the PhD as she had DC etc.
Just setting the scene that finances are hard for her family as her DH is freelance and not earning much.
So the toddler group was a new business venture, spent lots of money on franchises to run classes, etc.
It's still running. Despite all the warnings. Over the weekend she ran a film event with people sitting around on Mats on the floor in a confined space with lots of other people!!!
She insists she deep cleans and is happy to stay open.
I think finaces are probably an issue but what the eff would you say, if anything?
