Avoiding young kids being too isolated?

If kids are off school for next 4-5 months potentially, how is everyone going to stop young kids, particularly in one-child families being too isolated from peers?

Leisure facilities are closed, presumably soft play etc will be closed soon too. 4 months is a long time for a young child not to play with others isn't it?

Needs must and all that, but how are others planning to cope?

Fuck knows. I’d love some ideas.

Walking in the park, woods or by the sea with friends or family? Think we will jeep doing that for as long as possible. Not planning on going to the park though..

We don't have lots of other kids in our family Kahlua4me ditto friends with kids anywhere in the area - unfortunately social group was mainly school Confused or visiting friends a long way away which isn't really practical now.

Are you on a WhatsApp group with other school mums? Some of the mums in my area are setting up interactive group activities for children (book sharing, games, singing, art, workouts etc) via the Zoom app.

Thinking about arranging to do the same craft activity as friend is doing with their kids, then set up a Skype call. Will need to find something we both have the stuff for, but should be doable.

Next door have a DS slightly older then my own, they're not really friends at the moment, but if weather improves we might try some games through the fence. Can only really think of races up and down the garden, but will keep thinking.

Zoom stuff sounds good, might suggest it to other parents, we have a FB group.

Zoom app looks good, we have just set that up too.

I am sure the other parents at school will be up for doing similar things.
