Local hostel offering group childcare from next week

Is this not going to just completely negate the whole point of social distancing and schools closing?

In fact, it'll be worse, because it's somebody who no doubt means well but as far as I can tell has no quals or experience, who is offering parents to leave their kids with her in a local hostel. Will she be implementing strict handwashing?! How is this going to be safe?

I appreciate it will be very difficult for people to find childcare, but this isn't the answer, is it?

Huge safeguarding issues with this I think.

Yes, that's one of the two massive problems I see with it.

I don't know what to do ... I can see the problem she's trying to address, but at the same time I think it's so irresponsible to do this.

Totally agree. It’s madness.

kayakhala · 18/03/2020 21:41

Safeguarding issue and not much of social distancing really.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 18/03/2020 21:51

What is the best course of action, do you think?

Well it is unregulated chilcare so can you report to the council?

No way would I be using something like that!

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 18/03/2020 21:56

Thanks, Brief, that hadn't occured to me. I shall look into it.

And yes, I think you'd have to be pretty desparate to leave your kids in a hotel with an unknown woman during lockdown.
