Teachers and school staff

I feel extremely selfish even asking this. I’m devastated that the schools are closed. I agree it’s the right thing to do but I’m gutted for my students and my own children who should be sitting exams this year.

Do school staff still get paid? My husband has already lost his job and I’m panicking how we are going to financially survive if my wages go too.

Bump as it’s gone off the first page

I don’t mean this to be rude, but why are you asking?

Slazengerbag · 18/03/2020 21:22

I’m asking because I work in a school. I’m not teaching at the moment. I am the pastoral
Leader for the school. My husband has lost his job and I’m concerned I won’t get paid either.

I know we are in the same position as lots of people but it doesn’t stop the worry.

6 mths full pay according to our finance chap (basically sick leave).

If he'd said that to me and have reminded him that although I've not been in this week, I've been setting work for home learning and answering questions online for students. Personally, I don't think this should be classed as sick leave.

Thank you user1471. I’ve been given lots off work to be doing during time off which will take me at least a few weeks to do!

Ooh, geez-why might someone want to know if they were going to paid from now on when their husband has just lost their job?! I just can’t imagine...

I would assume if you are remote teaching you are being paid.

Zombiemum1946 · 18/03/2020 22:11

You will be paid. My husband's a teacher and he's still going to be paid.
