My 12 old's gymnastic class is carrying on as normal next week. Does anyone else know of anything similar to this? Are groups/clubs generally covered by insurance for unexpected closures? Thanks..

I think our gym & trampolining classes are still on. Everything else is cancelled - brownies/guides/pony club though.

Everything I thought was still on, has now been cancelled, except for one class which I’m betting will be cancelled any minute now.

My son's gymnastics class is the only one still running too - not sure how they can when the schools are closed?
Swimbikerun · 19/03/2020 10:59
Climbing??? Def avoid that one. Practically everything stopped where we are.

DD’s squad gymnastics running as normal, as is DS’s running club. Swimming lessons also continue as normal.

swim I know - like indoor climbing holds aren’t usually grubby enough
Happy to say everywhere has seen sense & cancelled now - except gymnastics (small independent business so I expect it’s lack of communication rather that actual stupidity)

British Gymnastics has said that clubs can make an individual choice based on a Risk Assessment specific to their setting. I’d be asking to see this document before deciding.
Our club was trying to figure out how to keep the competition squad on reduced training but as the social distancing is to stop cross infections from family to family I can’t see how they’d mitigate that risk enough- other than individual training slots. Might come to that for some of our gymnasts who have the chance to represent our country and for whom not training will have a huge effect.
