Before I start im aware some people have been unable to get slots blah blah blah but I have a shop coming tomorrow from tescos and ive just read that from tomorrow Tesco’s will be putting a limit on how much stuff you can buy so does that mean it will effect my shopping? We are a family of 5 so some things I do buy more than 2 of for obvious reasons. Can’t speak to Tesco’s as it said only call if it’s urgent. Any advice?
Will this effect existing slots?

Yes it affects existing slots, that's if they have any of the items in stock anyway. Usually they're picked from the shop floor the same day.

I had 4 tins of mackerel fillets in tomato delivered today

LightAsTheBreeze · 18/03/2020 17:48

Sorry I just see from tomorrow

PumpkinP · 18/03/2020 17:48

It’s starting tomorrow I believe. Mine comes from a warehouse I read so not picked from store

LightastheBreeze

Do you mean that’s all you received from a large order? If so, what did you order?

putyourgamefaceon · 18/03/2020 17:51

I wouldn’t worry then cancelled my completely today as they had no stock, just an email saying sorry please book another slot we won’t charge you!! Amazing!!! 😡

Spiraeah · 18/03/2020 17:52

It’s stupid. I was sharing a delivery slot with two neighbours, getting one delivery between us to ease the pressure. Now we need 3 separate slots because items are limited.

viccat · 18/03/2020 18:01

Spiraeah I don't think that eases the pressure, as they've been saying the fact that everyone's order is much bigger means they won't be able to fit in as many orders onto their vans - so one van may only be able to deliver to 20 people if they previously delivered to 40 etc. leading to lack of available slots.

LightAsTheBreeze · 18/03/2020 21:24

I received my whole order, which had 4 tins of mackerel as part of it but they are limiting numbers now going forward so I would only be allowed 3

I have cancelled my next weeks order to free up a slot as we have plenty as I had bought quite a lot before this all kicked off so I didn’t really need it.

TheQueens · 18/03/2020 21:31

You need to login and check, I logged in to add some items for a delivery tomorrow to find they had taken £30 worth of stuff off my order that is now unavailable (anything from meat to crisps) I wouldn't of known if I hadn't logged in though. Added some alternatives but a lot of stuff is unavailable! Will se what arrives tomorrow....

TheQueens · 18/03/2020 21:32

Must add this is my usual monthly shop that has been booked for a while....

islandislandisland · 18/03/2020 21:34

My Tesco shop last night: a third cancelled entirely, a third substituted and the other third fine but it was obscure things like a jar of jalapeños, things you probably wouldn't stock pile 🙄

Might be worth trying to see what they're cancelling so you can plan to brave the shops.

PumpkinP · 18/03/2020 22:31

I went to the shops a couple of hours ago before they implement the rule, there was nothing, if you can buy it, it was gone. No meat of any kind, no eggs, no bread, not a single tin of anything, no noodles, no washing up liquid, no frozen I could go on Sad

Well I got my shopping and they did send out the extra items despite the limit so they must have applied some common sense when it came to orders previously made. I’m pretty pleased with it as I got most of my shopping except milk, pasta, washing powder, and tissue. A few substitutes but sensible ones.
