Schools closed indefinitely = barely being able to get any of my PhD done = failing my confirmation resubmission = losing my funding = needing a job but noone employing someone who can't leave the house = no money. To be honest I would rather die of coronavirus.

Please contact your supervisor, the university should be extending deadlines and putting measures in place so that you don't fail your PhD over this.

what age are your kids? what kind of PhD?

our university will let any students suspend their PhD studies right now and come back to it later, if that is an option. so your funding would be put on hold & be ready for you to start up again in September or so (assuming that is when schools reopen).

If I suspend I still have no money. It doesn't help anything. Social sciences and 10 and 12 but 10yo with ASD and will not leave me alone for 5 minutes. Single parent. Family members all vulnerable so can't help. Whatever way you look at it I'm in a mess.

Ditto the extension.

Daughter's Master's project has an extension to the end of summer, though she won't get any lab time (needed for her PhD) so that'll be interesting.
