If someone has symptoms and you have contact with them then the one with symptoms isolate for 7 days and you isolate for 14 days as that is the incubation period

Thank you.. No not me, a friend. Not living with the person but was briefly in their home. Couldn't work it out but 14 days the best option I will relay it

How long were they in contact for? Found this:

You generally need to be in close contact with a sick person to get infected. Close contact includes:

ï‚· Living in the same household as a sick person with COVID-19,
ï‚· Caring for a sick person with COVID-19,
ï‚· Being within 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for about 10 minutes, OR
ï‚· Being in direct contact with secretions from a sick person with COVID-19 (e.g., being coughed on, kissing, sharing utensils, etc.).

I dont know for sure I'll check but if the above then only 7? Or none if 5 mins or so. This is getting so difficult... I would like to know for myself too.
