Giving blood?

Has anyone given blood in the last few days? I have an appointment tomorrow and just wondering if it will be cancelled?

I don’t have any symptoms or underlying conditions (although I’m a smoker). I’ve been out and about a little this week to shops and walking the dog.

Would you still go if it’s not cancelled? Wonder what hoops or tests I am going to have to go through! I will still gladly donate as I imagine it’s badly needed.

Friend of mine has just posted, he's there today. Blood donation is normally very hot on contacting donors so if it was cancelled I reckon they'd have been in touch, but am happy to be proven otherwise

Their Twitter page says to go if you don't have symptoms, they need the blood. It is classed as essential travel. I'm supposed to donate at the weekend, they've stuck to that line for a while.

Ah just noticed you posted on 18th! Wonder if you went in the end...

Yes I attended my appointment and had a successful donation. They ask at check in if you have rang Coronavirus symptoms. Also you are not allowed to have anyone with you who is not giving blood but other than that nothing different. I agree it will be badly needed and glad it is seen as essential
