Mortgage amnesty

Does anyone know how to apply for the mortgage amnesty?
I've rung my bank (barclays) and they hadn't heard anything / guidance.
I have 0 income now (supply agency worker) I'm having to self isolate.
Also are people applying for benefits. How?
Any advice v welcome and I'm sure there are many who also need this advice.

@Bookoffacts When you say "amnesty", do you mean the three month mortgage holiday? What the banks are (or should be) offering is a mortgage break for three months. Three months' worth of payments will then be added onto the rest of your mortgage, either by increasing your remaining payments or extending the overall term.

Barclays talk about mortgage support on their website, so they are most definitely aware:

I'd give them a call back and hopefully you'll get through to someone different who knows what they're talking about.

Thank you.
They called it amnesty on the news. It's a payment holiday and I'd be fine to pay it at the end of the mortgage or have payments go up slightly. I'm just very worried now.
Thanks for your advice. I'll ring them back.

Would you remind reporting back how you get on? I'm in a similar situation with Barclays and wonder what the process will be. Thank you

I spoke to the bank again. On hold for 30 mins.
But better news.
They said they didnt know anything yet but would be in touch in the next three days by email.
I assume the email will run through the process.
Anyone any info regarding benefits? Otherwise my only plan is to live on increasing barclaycard debt ! :(
