Leukaemia and Coronavirus

I do not know what I am supposed to be doing at the moment.
Of course no unnecessary contact, but I'd read online that someone from the NHS would be contacting all leukaemia and lymphoma patients with advice, does anyone know if this is correct?

Have you seen the article where the 21 year old Spanish coat died of Covid because he has undiagnosed Leukaemia? Thought to be the youngest known victim. It's heartbreaking.

I'd be self-isolating from now onwards until more is known about this virus.

Sorry, Spanish coach

LondonLoggs · 18/03/2020 12:04

@InASense no I haven't seen that but I'll go and read now Sad that's heartbreaking. Horrible.
I'm not sure if realistically I'll lose my job from self isolating from now. But at the end of the day I'd rather lose my job than my life.

Sorry, hope I've not sent you into a panic. I really hope your work will be understanding. There is still relatively little known about the virus in the grand scheme of things and people just cannot take any chances with their lives.

But what happened to that poor man should make any decent human being realise that you going into self-isolation is really necessary. At least until we know more about the risks.

The charity bloodwise has this on their website. I have recovered from Hodgkins as has my DD and I checked to see if we were potentially at a higher risk still.

You would be in the group that needs to self isolate for at least 12 weeks realistically longer. Have you tried calling your consultant?
