Covid
How long are you contagious?

I keep reading about people with a cough self isolating (SI) for 14days and then planning on going about their usual business.
The 14 days is the time it takes for the illness to show so after 14 days surely you could still be contagious if you had developed a cough before SI or if you are carrying it mildly?

It's 7 days if you live alone
14 days for the whole household, which gives the first person showing symptoms time to recover and any individual who shows symptoms after the 14 days, need to self isolate for an additional 7 days starting from the first day the showed symptoms.

The WHO said people can still be contagious for 14 days after symptoms have cleared up!

We have a friend who tested positive for CV. He was told by the Drs that he was ok to go out after 7 days from symptoms starting
TheCanterburyWhales · 18/03/2020 09:31
Contagious anything up to 21 days
Incubation 7-14
And every time anyone leaves the house, it's as if you're starting the SI from scratch.
That's what the Italian authorities are telling us, which makes sense. We're in lockdown but dp goes food shopping every couple of days. So it's like the lockdown begins from 0 every time.
