Am I mad for thinking the government will have to bring in rationing to make sure everyone is adequately fed and to stop the despicable profiteering (baby milk Angryhand sanitiser etc)

Yes, you’re mad

They might set up some sort of formula distribution scheme so those people who really cannot buy it in ships can access via pharmacy/HV etc

But setting up a rationing system (which would have to start with a population registration system) is not a quick measure. And it’s far too important to do in a rapid (potentially omnishambles) way

Would it be DEFRA in charge?

I wonder if the gov can force shops to ration sales.
I know a mum who can't get milk for a her baby and was so upset by it Sad

There was talk of getting the army involved in distribution of supermarket supplies and stocking up.

I just think they'll get stricter on how many items you can buy. Our 24 hour supermarket shut at 10 last night. Looking online, they've run out of so many things - not really expecting our delivery to turn up on friday.

Someone I know in the army said the reserves were being mobilised. They didn't say what for.

Sainsbury's are doing it themselves
