Serving customers during Coronavirus pandemic

Are there any hot food takeaway or restaurant out there that are trying to minimise contact with customers but still staying open for business by just providing a delivery service or if customers turn up by serving them without them entering the business premises, this is to minimise any spread of the Coronavirus? Just wondering if this is a good idea or not.

McDonalds have announced thielocally...only open for delivries and drive thru

For what it’s worth that’s what almost all eateries etc are doing here in Holland, all cafes and restaurants were forced to close on Sunday night but they’re still allowed to do deliveries. I think it’s a good idea.

Some advertise you can drive and collect from the restaurant carpark

Our restaurant has always done our full menu for take away but collection only, but it probably makes up less than 10%of our turnover. We are now going all out on social media to try and push it and looking at starting delivery's at the weekends to try and keep ourselves ticking over for the next few months

Would you think it strange to serve you through the door without you entering business premises if we don't have a serving hatch like McDonald's
nowmorethanever · 17/03/2020 22:27
I think you could fairly easily make a half door insert thing out of a big piece of wood?
Thunderpunt · 18/03/2020 08:45
If you are able to take the payment over the phone by card, no reason why you couldn't set up a table at the front of the restaurant for collection. (If a hatch or half door isn't possible)
