Would you let your child to to a soft play party at the moment?

Just that really. Soft play party end of this week. Would you let your child go? On the one hand he's round all the kids all day at school, the soft play is doing extra cleaning etc. On the other hand there will be non school children there, so it's additional mixing, plus adults... Feel bad for the birthday child though.

No , soft plays are filthy at the best of times so in the current climate I wouldn’t .
For what it’s worth , our local soft play has just announced they’re closing with immediate effect.
Dd has a party sat afternoon in someone’s house . It’s no different to being at school so all going well she will be going but I’ll play it by ear .

BillywigSting · 17/03/2020 21:50

The government has said do not involve yourself unless they’re essential.

Is it essential that you take your child to softplay? Your child may pick up CV and pass it onto another child at school who’s parent might be high risk/extremely vulnerable.

You should only be leaving the house for things that are essential.

OwlinaTree · 17/03/2020 21:55

Thank yousexnotgender, I'm aware of this. That's why I'm asking.

Answered this at the weekend and still my answer is the same, whilst the schools are open then yes

OwlinaTree · 17/03/2020 21:56

I definitely agree it's not essential. I feel sorry for the birthday girl though.

No. Obviously, a soft play party is unnecessary social contact. Sad for the birthday child, yes. But it's just how it is.

user1333796 · 17/03/2020 21:57

Yes I would during these early stages. Soft Play centres are spotless at the moment, and I'd want to support them, my children are still in nursery and school so a clean soft play centre with lots of hand washing is fine in my opinion. We will likely be cooped up for months, so I don't want to isolate ourselves too soon.

Merename · 17/03/2020 21:57

No way! They should have shut the school already, that’s leading to this kind of confusion. We’ve taken ours out and I think others should do the same, but at very least do not mix socially like this.
